Orlando, Fla. -- The women's lacrosse team (0-1) dropped its season opener, losing 8-6 to Roanoke (2-1) Wednesday.

Freshman Becky Bedard (East Longmeadow/East Longmeadow, Mass.) scored the first two goals of her career and senior Inga Tracy-Bronson (Whitney Point/Lisle) added her first career goal. Sophomore Meagan Howell (Newark/Newark) and junior Khrista Trerotola (Amherst Central/Amherst) both collected a goal and two assists.

Junior Lindsay Mayfield (Nichols/East Aurora) made four saves.

The Bombers face Mary Washington Friday at 10 a.m.
